KALEA - the mother of Gaya & Lissy. She was surrendered to us with her pack by a hunter at the beginning of summer 2024. As if the life of a hunter were a walk in the park, it took her a very, very long time to gain any confidence. She almost died in our hands after her spaying. We literally saved the lives of our two girls, Giulia and Linda, in a late-night incident. It took her a long time to recover. But then she made great strides... Even though she is often still quite reserved, she seems to be becoming more open and funnier every day. She walks well on a leash, is social with other dogs, is becoming increasingly curious, but still often has trouble coming out of her shell. She often stands back and reacts very reservedly in new situations or sometimes with new people. She has a typical Podenco hunting instinct and loves walks with people she trusts. Since she's still a bit reserved, it would certainly be beneficial if her new home had an existing, confident first dog, preferably a Podenco/A, to whom she could give some guidance. Kalea is a thoroughly sweet dog and eager to please. She often reassures herself. We've already had some initial impressions of how she behaves within four walls. Considering she's unfamiliar with anything, she's doing excellently and seeks out closeness to people even more. She's also a brilliant driver.
